Parisian Florist

Parisian Florist   9" x 12"  oil on panel

The Parisian Florist shop on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Sierra Bonita in Hollywood.  Unique architecture, bright colors, strong light and shadows are the kinds of things I find fascinating to paint.

One story about this flower shop, established in 1924, is that Joe DiMaggio bought flowers here for Marilyn Monroe when she passed away.  He then asked that they continue to deliver flowers to her grave 3 times a week for 20 years.
