LPAPA Invitational

Last Sunday marked the beginning of the 13th Annual Laguna Plein Air Painters Invitational - a perfect day of warm weather, clear blue skies and a tremendous opportunity for me to paint alongside 50 of the nation's finest plein air painters which included artist friends Daniel Aldana, Debra Huse, Greg La Rock, Jeff Horn, April Raber and Carolyn Hesse Low.  The day started at the Laguna Art Museum with a breakfast orientation presentation followed by a 2 hour "Quick-Draw" in Heisler Park.  I chose to paint the north side of Rockpile Cove - one of the most spectacular coastal formations in Laguna Beach.  The event was well attended by throngs of art lovers who came to watch and ask questions as our paintings took shape throughout the afternoon.  At the conclusion of the quick-draw, all the paintings were brought to the Laguna Art Museum where they will be offered in a week-long silent auction from October 10 until Saturday October 15.
