Plein Air Richmond

Corner in Church Hill   11"x 14"   oil on panel

I was recently honored to be juried in the Plein Air Richmond Festival which was held June 9 through June 16th.  A total of 45 of the country's top plein air artists traveled to Richmond, Virginia to participate in this years event.  The festival was organized by the Brazier Gallery - Loryn Brazier and her staff did an absolutely flawless job in orchestrating the weeklong event.  The event also got some great coverage of the event on the local news station WTVR. Friday night's Collector's Preview and Sale was a "packed house" at the Brazier Gallery.  Later that evening, a private gala reception and dinner was held at a contemporary gallery space across the street - one the best receptions I have ever attended.  I was fortunate to have my painting "Corner in Church Hill" selected for an Honorable Mention award by Stephen Doherty of Plein Air Magazine.

Although not perfect weather (hot, humid and a few major downpours), Plein Air Richmond was a wonderful opportunity to paint the many wonderful places that make Richmond one of this country's most charming and unique cities.
